If you work in travel healthcare, there are few places where you can walk into a room and immediately be surrounded by people who understand the assignment life.
TravCon is that place.
From September 13–16, 2026, travel nurses, allied health professionals, locum tenens providers, industry experts, recruiters, and other members of the travel healthcare community will gather at Paris Las Vegas for four days centered around education, career growth, connection, and a whole lot of fun.
Whether this is your first TravCon or you already have several under your belt, knowing what to expect can help you make more of your time in Las Vegas.
Here’s your guide to TravCon 2026.
What Is TravCon?
TravCon, short for The Travelers Conference, is an annual conference created specifically for healthcare professionals who travel for work.
Unlike a traditional clinical conference focused primarily on one profession or specialty, TravCon brings together people from across travel healthcare.
You may meet:
- Travel nurses
- Imaging professionals
- Respiratory therapists
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapists
- Surgical professionals
- Laboratory professionals
- Locum tenens providers
- Students and future travelers
- Recruiters and staffing professionals
- Travel healthcare educators and experts
- Companies providing services and resources for travelers
That variety is part of what makes the event different.
You are not just meeting people who do the same job you do. You are connecting with people who understand what it means to pack up your life, start over in a new facility, navigate contracts, explore unfamiliar cities, and build a career that doesn't necessarily follow a traditional path.
TravCon 2026: The Details
Here are the basics to know before you start planning:
Dates: September 13–16, 2026
Location: Paris Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada
Main Conference Days: Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15
Who It's For: Travel healthcare professionals, future travelers, students, recruiters, staffing agencies, and others within the travel healthcare community
General admission includes two days of main conference education, access to the Exhibit Hall, continuing education opportunities, networking, meals during the main conference, the Tuesday AfterParty, Wednesday's Farewell Brunch, yoga sessions, and other activities.
What Happens at TravCon?
TravCon packs a lot into a few days, which is why it helps to understand the basic schedule before you arrive.
Sunday: Pre-Conference Day
Sunday is when many of the optional pre-conference educational opportunities take place.
These may include programs such as:
- Traveler Success BootCamp
- Medical Spanish
- AWHONN-related education
- NRP certification opportunities
If you register for additional programming, your TravCon experience may start before the main conference officially gets underway.
Sunday is also a great time to get settled into Las Vegas, familiarize yourself with the hotel, and connect with other travelers arriving for the week.
Monday: Main Conference Day One
Monday is when TravCon really comes alive.
Educational sessions run throughout the day, and the Exhibit Hall gives attendees the opportunity to meet staffing agencies, learn about travel healthcare resources, discover companies serving travelers, and explore potential career opportunities.
You'll also have plenty of opportunities to meet other healthcare travelers between sessions and events.
Tuesday: Main Conference Day Two
Tuesday brings another full day of educational sessions, exhibits, networking, and career conversations.
And then comes one of the most anticipated parts of TravCon: the AfterParty.
After several days of learning and networking, it's a chance for the travel healthcare community to celebrate together before the conference begins winding down.
Wednesday: Farewell Brunch and Post-Conference Sessions
Wednesday morning includes the Farewell Brunch, giving attendees one more opportunity to connect before heading home or back to their assignments.
Additional post-conference educational opportunities are also available.
Education That Actually Applies to Travel Healthcare
One of the biggest benefits of attending TravCon is access to education specifically designed around the realities of working as a healthcare traveler.
Instead of focusing only on clinical topics, sessions can address the questions travelers deal with throughout their careers.
That may include topics such as:
- Travel healthcare taxes
- Contracts and pay packages
- Career planning
- Licensing
- Financial planning
- Professional development
- Traveler wellness
- Clinical certifications
- Communication
- Working with recruiters and agencies
- Navigating the travel healthcare market
TravCon 2026 features dozens of speakers and sessions, giving attendees plenty of opportunities to build a schedule around the topics that matter most to them.
Continuing education opportunities are also available for multiple healthcare professions, although requirements and eligible credits vary by profession and session.
Don't Try to Attend Everything
Once you see the TravCon schedule, your first instinct may be to squeeze in as much as possible.
Resist it.
There are dozens of sessions, exhibitors, events, conversations, and activities competing for your attention. Trying to do everything can turn an exciting conference into an exhausting one.
Before the conference, choose a few priorities.
Think about what would make TravCon feel worthwhile to you.
Maybe you want to:
- Learn more about taxes and contracts
- Explore a new specialty
- Meet potential staffing agencies
- Find your next assignment
- Earn continuing education credits
- Meet travelers you've connected with online
- Learn more about the current travel healthcare market
- Build professional connections
- Simply feel more connected to the travel community
Once you know your priorities, you can build your schedule around them.
Leave some open space too. Some of the best TravCon moments happen in conversations you never planned.
Use the Exhibit Hall Strategically
The Exhibit Hall can be one of the most valuable parts of the conference, especially if you're thinking about your next assignment.
You'll have the opportunity to meet representatives from staffing agencies and other companies serving healthcare travelers.
But you don't have to visit every booth.
Before TravCon, think about the questions you actually want answered.
For example:
- Which agencies regularly have jobs in my specialty?
- Which states or regions currently have opportunities?
- How does the agency handle benefits between assignments?
- What support is available during an assignment?
- How are recruiters assigned?
- What should I know about current pay and market conditions?
- What makes this agency different from others I'm considering?
Having real questions makes those conversations much more useful than simply collecting brochures and swag.
And remember: you don't have to make any decisions on the spot.
TravCon is a great place to gather information, compare options, and figure out who you may want to follow up with later.
Talk to People You Don't Already Know
Going to a conference alone can feel intimidating.
So can walking up to someone you've never met and starting a conversation.
Do it anyway.
Most people at TravCon already have something significant in common with you: they understand travel healthcare.
An easy conversation starter can be as simple as:
"Where are you traveling right now?"
"What specialty are you in?"
"Is this your first TravCon?"
"What's been your favorite assignment?"
Those small conversations can turn into friendships, job leads, roommate connections, professional relationships, or simply a familiar face you'll be happy to see again next year.
What Should You Pack for TravCon?
Vegas in September and a heavily air-conditioned conference center can require two completely different wardrobes.
A few things are especially useful to bring:
- Comfortable shoes
- Layers for conference rooms
- Business cards or an easy way to share your contact information
- A portable phone charger
- Water bottle
- Small bag or backpack
- Notebook or note-taking app
- Casual clothing for exploring Las Vegas
- Something fun for evening events
- Any materials you need for certification or educational sessions
You will probably walk more than you expect, so comfortable shoes deserve a second mention.
Make Time for Las Vegas
You came for TravCon, but you're still in Las Vegas.
You don't have to spend every available minute inside the conference.
Grab dinner with people you just met. Walk the Strip. See a show. Explore somewhere you've never been. Take an afternoon or evening to enjoy the city.
Travel healthcare is built around experiencing new places, and TravCon can be part professional conference and part travel experience.
What First-Time TravCon Attendees Should Know
If this is your first year, you may arrive wondering whether everyone already knows each other.
They don't.
There will be plenty of other first-time attendees, solo travelers, new healthcare travelers, and people looking to make connections.
You also don't need to be an experienced traveler to belong there.
TravCon can be especially valuable if you're still considering travel healthcare because it gives you an opportunity to learn about the industry and talk directly with people already living the lifestyle.
Come curious.
Ask questions.
Introduce yourself.
You don't have to know exactly where your career is headed before you arrive.
Don't Forget the Community Part
There are plenty of professional reasons to attend TravCon.
You can earn education credits, meet agencies, learn about the market, and build your career.
But there's another reason thousands of travelers make the trip to Las Vegas.
Community.
Travel healthcare can be incredible, but moving from assignment to assignment can also make it harder to build consistent connections.
TravCon gives you a few days where being a healthcare traveler isn't the unusual thing in the room. It's the thing connecting everyone in it.
That's also what Scrub Society is built around.
Our community brings together hundreds of thousands of travel healthcare professionals to share experiences, find resources, discover opportunities, ask questions, and stay connected wherever the next assignment takes them.
