<p>We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Midland, TX. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.</p>
<p>As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.</p>
<h4>Tasks</h4>
<p>As an SLP, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:</p>
<ul>
<li>Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.</li>
<li>Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.</li>
<li>Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.</li>
<li>Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.</li>
<li>Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.</li>
<li>Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Requirements</h4>
<p>Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.</p>
<p>Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.</p>
