Key Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Ensure residents' ADLs are met per care plan, including hygiene, grooming, and mobility
• Maintain residents’ safety and cleanliness of the environment
• Meet residents’ nutritional needs and honor their preferences
• Support residents’ rehabilitative needs, including mobility and use of assistive devices
• Report residents’ rights, needs, and any changes in physical or emotional status promptly
• Maintain documentation per protocol and ensure timely completion

Requirements of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS Certification (AHA or RQI specifically)
• One year of experience in a long-term care setting
• High School Diploma or GED
