Key Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Ensure resident's ADL's needs are met per care plan, including hygiene, grooming, and skin care.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment, including prompt response to call lights and alarms.
• Support nutritional needs by meal delivery and honoring resident preferences.
• Facilitate rehabilitative needs such as range of motion exercises and use of assistive devices.
• Report resident's rights, refusals, and any changes in status promptly to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS certification (AHA or RQI only)
• One year of previous experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting
• Must be licensed for at least one year
