Key Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant

• Meet resident's ADL's needs including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and ensuring a comfortable environment, with documentation per protocol.
• Maintain resident's environment and safety by responding to call lights and alarms, and ensuring cleanliness and functionality of equipment, with documentation per protocol.
• Ensure resident's nutritional needs are met, respecting preferences and choices, with documentation per protocol.
• Address residents' rehabilitative needs including range of motion, ambulation, and proper body alignment, with documentation per protocol.
• Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns promptly to Charge or Supervising Nurse as per protocol.
• Recognize and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status promptly to Charge Nurse.

Requirements of the Certified Nursing Assistant

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS (AHA or RQI) certification
• One (1) year experience in a long-term care or CNA capacity
• Licensed for at least one year
• High School Diploma or GED
