Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in medical billing and coding, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities include accurately assigning ICD-10 diagnosis codes based on clinical documentation, preparing and submitting electronic and paper claims in compliance with payer requirements, and monitoring claim status to identify and resolve rejections, denials, and payment delays. The role also includes posting payments, adjustments, and denials accurately into billing systems, resolving registration and eligibility issues such as insurance verification and demographic updates, analyzing denied claims and submitting appeals when appropriate, and performing regular accounts receivable reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve outstanding balances. The specialist will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policies to ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards. Qualifications include proven experience in medical billing and coding with strong knowledge of ICD-10 guidelines, proficiency with EHR systems and billing platforms, solid understanding of insurance billing processes, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills. A Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential or equivalent certification is required.
