Medical Coding Specialist - Profee Surgery Coder

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Coder specializing in professional services, with a strong focus on Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding and related ancillary services. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement methodologies within professional healthcare services, and wound care knowledge is considered a plus. Responsibilities include accurately assigning CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services; reviewing medical documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards; collaborating with providers and coding auditors to resolve discrepancies or documentation gaps; maintaining current knowledge of coding updates and industry changes; supporting internal teams through coding education and best practices; and identifying potential compliance risks and opportunities for process improvement. Candidates must hold a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential or equivalent certification such as CCS-P or COC, and have proven experience in professional services coding, particularly E&M coding across multiple specialties. Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 guidelines, and healthcare regulatory requirements is essential, along with proficiency in coding systems and electronic health records (EHR). The role requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with providers, auditors, and internal teams.
