Medical Hospital Billing & AR Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Billing and Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist with strong expertise in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) and Office-Based Labs (OBL), particularly with cardiology procedures. This role is responsible for accurate claim submission, timely collections, and resolution of outstanding accounts receivable to optimize revenue cycle performance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, well-versed in cardiology-specific billing and coding requirements, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and submitting insurance and patient claims; ensuring coding accuracy using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and appropriate modifiers; and managing claims through clearinghouses and payer portals. The role also involves monitoring aging reports, following up on unpaid or underpaid claims, resolving denials through appeals and corrected submissions, posting payments and adjustments accurately, and communicating with insurance carriers to expedite reimbursement. Additionally, this position supports patient billing inquiries, payment plans, and collections while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations. The specialist will stay current on ASC and OBL cardiology reimbursement policies and generate reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Qualified candidates should have at least 2+ years of medical billing and A/R experience, preferably in cardiology, ASC, or OBL settings, along with strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and payer reimbursement guidelines. Experience with EHR systems, practice management platforms, and clearinghouses is required, as is familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes. Preferred qualifications include CPC, CPB, or similar certification, as well as prior experience with cardiology ASC/OBL billing, prior authorizations, appeals, and revenue cycle KPIs. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality in a remote work setting.
