Patient Financial Services Rep

As a Patient Financial Services Representative, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service to patients while managing medical billing inquiries and payment processing in a high-volume environment. This role involves handling inbound calls from patients, assisting with financial concerns, and supporting a seamless revenue cycle process. You will collect payments over the phone, set up payment plans when needed, and ensure accurate documentation of all transactions. You will also interpret and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to patients, helping them understand insurance coverage, billed charges, and any discrepancies. In addition, you will research and resolve billing issues such as denied claims or payment disputes by collaborating with insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure timely resolution. This role requires fluent communication in both English and Spanish to effectively support a diverse patient population. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records of patient interactions and payments, generating reports to track billing and collection trends, and ensuring full compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills with a focus on first-call resolution, patience, active listening, and problem-solving abilities to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, or customer service; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred. Strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer proficiency are required, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
