Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician

• Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill prescriptions and prepare IVs
• Collaborate with a Billing Supervisor to enter data into the computer system for prescriptions and reimbursements
• Prepackage medication for dispensing in compliance with standards and regulations
• Assist in the final checking of filled prescriptions, including staging and packaging of medications
• Maintain good inventory practices, including receiving, rotating, and posting lot numbers and expiration dates
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness

Requirements of the Pharmacy Technician

• Licenses and certifications as required by state regulations
• Experience working under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist
