You must have an active Virginia or compact RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Recent experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) with pediatric patients is required. Experience with electronic medical record systems is recommended. Skills in critical care, cardiac monitoring, and family-centered care are important. RN Level 3 RNs are able to take assignments in general care units as well as at least two critical care units. Assigned units will be within the Level 3 RN’s skill level and could include: General/Specialty Units: Medical/Surgical Unit Hematology/Oncology Unit Progressive Care Unit Technology Dependent Intensive Care Unit Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Neuroscience Unit Emergency Department (Minor Care) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Level II Critical Care Units: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Emergency Department (Main Treatment Area) All RP Level 3 Staff RNs are supported by the general care unit and critical care unit’s leadership and report to the Operations Center Manager.
