Shifts: Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist

• Perform patient assessments and administer therapies, such as oxygen and aerosol medication delivery.
• Assist with bronchoscopies and placement of artificial airways.
• Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Facilitate transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent situations and ensure airway integrity during resuscitation.
• Assist at high-risk deliveries for neonatal stabilization and resuscitation.
• Provide education and serve as a clinical resource for patients and staff.
• Manage respiratory therapy equipment, including setup, operation, cleaning, sterilizing, and storage.

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist

• RCP license with Texas Medical Board
• RRT with National Board for Respiratory Care
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Critical care experience with adults
