Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician - OR- Operating Room - Travel

Location: Lake Charles, LA

Pay: $1,636.80 per week

Shifts: Swing shift, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday

This role is specifically aimed at the Operating Room within the specialties of neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, podiatry, and urology. Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician

• Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients
• Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor situations for breaches
• Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
• Position patients according to the type of surgery
• Identify and care for biological specimens
• Set up Operating Room tables, instruments, and supplies
• Proficiently scrub in at least three specialty areas
• Establish and maintain the sterile field and assist physicians
• Ensure preference cards are up to date and complete
• Maintain a safe environment with technical and aseptic practices
• Adhere to universal barrier precautions for safety

Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
