Job Description

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process. The RN monitors maternal and fetal conditions, assists with childbirth, provides postpartum care, and supports newborn stabilization and nursery care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate patterns throughout labor.

2. Provide nursing care during labor, vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections.

3. Assist physicians with labor management and delivery procedures.

4. Monitor patients for potential maternal and fetal complications.

5. Provide postpartum assessments and recovery care.

6. Perform newborn assessments and provide nursery care.

7. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

8. Educate mothers and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.

9. Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner.

10. Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe maternal and neonatal care.

Med Ninjas Job ID . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
