Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPublic Health Clinical Services

• Provide primary care services in accordance with established public health nursing protocols.
• Deliver family planning services, including pregnancy testing and emergency contraceptive services.
• Conduct communicable disease testing and screening, including STD, HIV, Hepatitis C, syphilis, and tuberculosis risk assessments.
• Support the Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program.
• Participate in emergency response preparedness activities, including Point of Dispensing (POD) sites and other emergency public health services as needed.
• Provide patient education, preventive care, and health promotion services.

Patient Assessment and Clinical Procedures

• Perform patient intake procedures, including medical history, vital signs, laboratory testing, and assessment of chief complaints and presenting illnesses.
• Ensure completion of required health history questionnaires.
• Document drug allergies, medical alerts, and other relevant patient information.
• Complete immunization assessments and administer appropriate vaccines.
• Perform phlebotomy and in-house point-of-care (POC) laboratory procedures.
• Perform EKGs as required.
• Dispense medications from the in-house medication room in accordance with established protocols.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and specialty referrals.
