Job Description

An ASAP-start opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) at a Critical Access Hospital in Haskell, Texas. The nurse will primarily provide emergency department care while remaining flexible to assist with Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) patients as needed.

The Emergency Department averages approximately 10-15 patients per day. The ideal candidate will have strong emergency nursing skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries.

• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.

• Respond to medical emergencies and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

• Assist with Medical-Surgical patient care when needed.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Cerner EMR system.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.

• Work independently while maintaining patient safety and compliance with hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

• Strong Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience.

• Ability to work independently in a rural Critical Access Hospital.

• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred or required as specified by the facility.

• Flexibility to assist with Med/Surg coverage.

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
