Travel RN - Medical Step-Down Morristown, NJ

Morristown, New Jersey

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Every 3rd weekend; one summer holiday

Floating required as needed

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Step-Down provides nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. The RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with the healthcare team to promote evidence-based practices and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.

• Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

• Promote evidence-based nursing practices and patient safety.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

• Demonstrate professionalism, respect, dignity, involvement, and excellence in patient care.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Intermediate Care/Step-Down RN experience.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

• Strong nursing assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and computer skills.

• Ability to float to other units as needed.
