Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns. The RN will support patients throughout labor, childbirth, recovery, and the postpartum period while ensuring patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.

• Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, uterine contractions, and labor progression.

• Perform maternal and fetal assessments and promptly identify potential complications.

• Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed.

• Provide immediate newborn care, including assessment, monitoring, and stabilization.

• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.

• Monitor mothers for postpartum complications, including hemorrhage, hypertension, and infection.

• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions.

• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Respond to obstetric emergencies and follow established emergency protocols.

• Promote patient safety, comfort, privacy, and family-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license accepted by Washington State.

• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Recovery nursing.

• Strong maternal and newborn assessment skills.

• Ability to recognize and respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.

• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program

Med Ninjas Job ID . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
