PCU / Stepdown Float Pool

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio: 1:4-1:6, depending on acuity.
• EMR: Epic.
• Floating: Required across PCU, Med-Surg, Telemetry, and other units as needed. Floating to nearby sister facilities may also be required.
• Call: Not specified.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience listed in the job requirements.
• Previous charge nurse experience is mandatory.
• Experience in PCU/Stepdown, Med-Surg, and Telemetry is relevant to the role.
• U.S. clinical experience is required. Canadian experience alone will not qualify.
• Compact RN license must be in hand at submission.
• Epic experience required.
• ACLS and NIHSS are listed as certifications, with asterisks indicating the requirements may need confirmation.

Charge Nurse Responsibilities

Charge experience is a requirement. On two small units, the assigned RN may be the only RN working alongside LPNs and CNAs. Responsibilities may include:

• Coordinating staffing needs.
• Managing patient flow and bed assignments.
• General unit coordination.
