Travel RN - Med-Surg Day Shift:

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg)

Job Overview

The Travel RN - Med-Surg will provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. The RN will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring, and evaluations.

2. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.

3. Administer medications and appropriate nursing interventions.

4. Monitor patient conditions and document progress accurately.

5. Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

6. Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.

7. Prioritize patient needs and respond to changes in clinical conditions.

8. Maintain patient safety and follow evidence-based nursing practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.

• Strong Med-Surg nursing experience.

• Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Patient care planning and documentation.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Basic computer skills and EMR documentation experience.

Education

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active Illinois RN License in good standing.

• BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
