Job Summary (MS/Tele RN at Unity):

- Mandatory Skills:
- Competency in phlebotomy
- IV placement required for all RNs

- Unit & Ratios:
- Specialty: MS/Tele (Medical Surgical/Telemetry)
- Day/Evening RN-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (may stretch to 1:6-7)
- Night RN-to-patient ratio: 1:6-7 (may stretch to 1:8-10 if short-staffed)

- Support Staff:
- PCTs available for vital signs, blood glucose, EKGs, ADLs

- Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- First-time travelers accepted

- Schedule:
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling possible but not guaranteed

- Certifications:
- BLS required

- On-call Requirement:
- None

- Floating:
- May float within scope to ED boarders, ICU (stable), Med-Surg, Acute Brain Injury (stable patients)

- Local Candidates:
- Not accepted (must live >75 miles from facility)

- License:
- Active, unencumbered license required (no pending licenses accepted)

- Time Off:
- No more than 1 week RTO per contract

- Special Requirements:
- MS/Tele skills required
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Peripheral line care/management
- Oxygen delivery devices (nasal cannula, face mask, portable tank)
- Non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions

- Patient Population:
- Cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, unmanaged diabetes

- Equipment Used:
- Bladder scanners
- Telemetry
- EKG machines
- Lifepacks

- Charting:
- Epic preferred

- Scrub Color:
- Navy and white (any combination)

Med Ninjas Job ID . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
