Job Summary (List Format):

- Provides professional nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process and current best practices.
- Performs all required unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the defined scope of service.
- Utilizes nursing procedures, theories, and technology relevant to the specific area of practice.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation to integrate care information for the healthcare team.
- Conducts initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs and unit standards.
- Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient care procedures, modifying plans as needed.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards or incidents.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members; addresses issues directly and privately when necessary.
- Provides constructive feedback to peers and collaborates with colleagues to enhance professional knowledge.
- Identifies personal learning needs and proactively seeks opportunities for professional development.
- Meets all departmental competency and compliance requirements.
- Holds current Illinois RN license in good standing and required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all American Heart Association).
