Job Description: Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining hospital-wide programs related to safety, infection prevention and control, and emergency preparedness. This position ensures compliance with CMS Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and applicable accreditation standards. In a CAH setting, this role functions in a highly collaborative, hands on capacity and serves as a key resource for staff, leadership, and medical providers. • Prepare for and support regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits. • Track, trend, and report data related to safety, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness. • Provide new hire and ongoing staff education for all program areas. • Investigate safety events, near misses, staff injuries, and hazardous conditions; complete root cause analyses and corrective action plans.

Minimum Job Requirements: • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare, public health, safety, or related field required. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare safety, infection prevention, quality, or risk management preferred. • Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare environment preferred. • Health and safety-related certification (e.g., CIC, CHSP, CEPS, or other relevant credential) preferred.
