Job Description

The PACU unit at HCA Clear Lake Main Tower is a 14-bed facility equipped with 16 dedicated staff members. As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, you will be involved in the care of patients recovering from surgical procedures, including endoscopies, hernia repairs, myomectomies, hysterectomies, nephrectomies, joint repairs/replacements, lumbar fusions, and various general surgeries. The unit utilizes Meditech for electronic medical record documentation and follows a patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during recovery.
• Administer medications and perform advanced interventions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Support and educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care.

Required Experience

• Active RN license.
• Experience in a PACU or critical care setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification preferred.
